The Original Sunday Blues – The Swaps

The Swaps

Sunday 16th November -4.30

The Swaps are an acoustic trio from the UK — Beth Brooks (vocals), James Knight (guitar, vocals), and Adam Phillips (guitar, vocals) — who bring together blues, soul, and folk in a sound that’s intimate, heartfelt, and full of fire.

After years of playing in different line-ups, the three discovered something truly special when they came together as an acoustic trio. Built around Beth’s jaw-dropping voice and the instinctive, intertwined guitars of James and Adam, The Swaps have created a sound that feels both classic and completely their own.

Their songs are rich, soulful, and deeply human — a reflection of three songwriters at the top of their craft. Together, they craft moments that can move from whisper-soft delicacy to foot-stomping power within a single performance.

Based in Leamington Spa, The Swaps host the monthly Blues Club at Temperance, a beloved event that sells out instantly and features guest appearances from some of the finest names in UK and international blues.

In 2025, The Swaps were honoured with five nominations at the UK Blues Federation Awards, including Best Band and Best Vocalist (Beth Brooks), plus another for their home venue, Temperance.

They’ve toured with Erasure, and played alongside legendary artists like Tim Edey, Geno Washington, John Primer, Stevie Watts, Greg Coulson, Steve Walwyn, and Jonathan Read. From Ronnie Scott’s to The Roundhouse, their performances have captivated audiences across the country.

Their new single, “Fast Train,” has been featured on BBC Radio and blues stations nationwide — a track that captures the soul, energy, and spirit that make The Swaps one of the most exciting acts in UK blues today.

“Beth is the star that shines brightly, magic in that voice…as the guitars intertwine impeccably”
